Default Will an 1997 Firebird LT1 Intake clear a stock 1976 hood?

I am on a time schedule, so anyone who can answer this next question quickly, would be greatly appreciated. Will an intake manifold off of a 1997 Firebird LT1 clear a stock 1976 hood? I know, chevy and pontiac have always been different engine components, but someone is trying to tell me an LT1 engine for pontiac and chevy are the same... I really have my doubts, but do not know the newer stuff...

the last time Pontiac had a different engine from Chevrolet was a 1980 turbo. it sucked ass, and was the last of the great breeds of Pontiac engines. Pontiac always wanted to build their version of the Corvette, called the Banshee, but was slapped down by GM everytime they tried. there were a few prototypes built in the mid 60's, that look surprisingly enough just like our sharks, before the c-3 debuted. they built one with an overhead cam 6, that car still survives, and they built one in '66 I believe with a 326 v-8, but it's missing in action, and was probably destroyed. A Pontiac version of the '69 vette, with a 428 and ram air would have been a great car in my opinion, or any of the super duty 455's of the early 70's.
