Default Couple of Pics from a Show Today

I know these pics get tiresome but what the heck. It was only my third drive of the summer as the weather has been miserable. This show was at a local independent fuel oil/gasoline supplier who has a strong community bent and loves to give back. Very good turnout with some very nice classic cars. His pumps were basically shut down for ~four hours so he took a hit. But I have to admire local entrepreneurs who take that kind of economic hit to contribute to the intererests and enthusiam of local classic car people.

So here is my car (Gertrude, a prim and proper 327/300 with Powerglide) in her new Sherwin-Williams green dress. Mild-mannered but she does get a lot of respect.

The licence plates are year-of-manufacture. The year 1967 was Canada's 100th anniversary and for those who are a little long in the tooth like me the World's Fair (Expo '67) was held in Montreal that year. That eventually spawned the Montreal Expos professional baseball team, now gone to Washington I believe.

Thanks! The car beside is the beige 1979 L-82 that I spent many years restoring. It still is a pretty car.

Great looking "Canadian" Corvette.... ........Yes my Montreal Expos went down to Washington ......this saga started when we had a chance to go all the way but the season was halted due to a strike('94) I believe. The next year we couldn't pay our stars and it was a big snowball effect since then.
I still have great memories....recent ones too.....The Boston Red-Sox came to town a few years back and the stadium was full (ok almost full) of Boston fans who came up for the series(my brother-in-law included). It was great,in fact, so great I forgot who won .

At one time a Expos baseball game in the big "O" was one big party and a lot of fun. I stopped going about 10 years ago when the fun factor mysteriously disappeared.

Thanks everyone. I've already received the "It's not a real 427 car" comment because of the hood. I was ready and waiting for those words although there are no numbers on the hood to indicate false bravado. There's one in every crowd who despite your best efforts at keeping these cars on the road, simply cannot resist putting a car down.

But by-and-large people seem fascinated by the mid-years. The colour intrigues as well although Goodwood Green was the most popular tint in 1967. I suspect that many ended up red.

Nice car - and tell me about the wheels

Did a black c2 coupe with Ontario license plate LEGEND show up? I haven't see that car in a few years.
