My Corvette(s):
Want a C3 or a C4
Default More head and leg room?

I would love to have a C3 (preferably 68-73) or early C4 vette. The only obstacle is .... me.

I'm 6'5" and go 250; I just don't fit. I'll need to sit several inches lower and several inches further back to be comfortable. If I can't find a way to do it, I'll just have to give up on the dream, but I really don't want to.

Are there mounting brackets or seats available that will accomplish this for me? If not, how about doing away with the brackets altogether and mounting the seats directly to the floor, or even building seats directly in, ala street rods?

I know I'm big, but I'm not THAT big. I just can't help thinking someone out there hasn't come up with a solution to this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean

when i was searching for a Vette, I also wanted an early chrome bumper C3 but it had been so many years that I had been in one that when I sat in a few I realized I couldn't fit in them comfortable enough to drive. I'm 6'2" and approx 220lbs.
I sat in a C2 and found it MUCH more comfortable with a lot more room - both headroom and legroom. I could still use an extra few inches of legroom but it's not bad at all. I ended up purchasing a '65.
Would still love an early C3 at some point but will always have trouble in the cramped cockpit. Meanwhile I LOVE my midyear and I'm glad things out out the way they did for me.
good luck!

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Actually, I love the C2 convertibles, but felt the one I drove had even less room for me than the C3 and C4 I drove. I guess it's all subjective.
