Default [NEWS] Dalziel eager to secure top ten finish

Dalziel eager to secure top ten finish

With a five-week layoff since the last round of the American Le Mans Series, Ryan Dalziel is raring to get back behind the wheel of the Pacific Coast Motorsport Corvette as the ALMS heads to Mid-Ohio this weekend for the third round of the year.

Having survived a gruelling debut at the Twelve Hours of Sebring in March to take sixth in GT1 class and a tenth place finish, Dalziel then stepped up with a double-driving stint in last month's Road Atlanta event to take the chequered flag fifth in class and ninth overall, the 23-year-old Scot having earlier topped the GT1 practice times ahead of the factory-entered Corvette C6-R's.

With two top ten finishes already for the rookie privateer GT1 team, Dalziel hopes to make it a three in a row at Mid-Ohio come Sunday afternoon.

"I can't wait to get back behind the wheel, five weeks is a long time to go without racing!" he said. "Mid-Ohio's an excellent venue and a challenging driver track. I've raced there before, finishing second in Toyota Atlantic's in 2003. We've been busy since Road Atlanta and I hope the set-up changes we found while testing at Infineon Raceway last week will help bump us up the grid a bit. We're also pretty excited about some big gains made in our tyre programme with Yokohama!"
