the overall length is less than 1/4" between the automatic and the manual. The only reason you can't use the auto for a manual application is the U-joints.
The manual has a 5-790X and a 5-785X (Spicer Nos.), or there are two different sizes. The automatic has the same, smaller size on both ends.
Another note: be sure to allow for 1 to 1.5 " "sliding room" on the yoke so as the car encounters potholes, RR tracks, different suspensions...the driveline can slide back and forth to accomodate the extremes.
