Default Belt Question

greetings all,

strange question here. i need to locate some belt dressing-grip that comes in a solid stick form. anyone know of a place that actually sells it. i know that there are sprays but, don't want 'em and i know that the sprays have taken the place of the solids over the years. the stick form comes in various sizes and most resembles the size of a tube of caulk but of course, a solid consistancy. if anyone knows for sure of a place and can give me an address or e-mail contact or web site, it would be greatkly appreciated. thanks!

Try a tractor supply store, they use them all the time...or a polisher for a rosin stick

Yeah, I wouldn't put anything on my belt. I would just change it, they aren't that expensive...

I just used the last of mine and have been using crayons ( a candle would probably work), but only on V-belts. I find STP spray belt dressing to be a waste of money.

Noisy belts are not always just loose and those belt dressing sticks can quiet them. Belts can make sounds that seem to be bad water pumps, lifters or all sorts of things.

I guess thats a new one on me,any time I have had a belt make noise, its been too loose(squealing and rattling)or too tight, or misaligned with another pulley(bad bearing/grinding noise)Sometimes they have come off or flipped over and broke at higher revs(dented pulley)I learn something new everyday.
