Default update on Baby - 5/3/05

stopped in to see Baby yesterday and check on progress.
joe was just finishing up on the doors before reintalling them on the car. The insides and jambs of the doors are painted and the top surround of the door is redone in black trim.
He was just completing putting the new weatherstripping on.

He was also finishing up on final sanding of the primer coats and fixing a few areas we found that we decided to nitpick and redo around the headlight buckets before rolling her into the paint booth.

if goes well she should be rolling into the booth later this afternnoon and have color on her by tomorrow. He plans on working thru the weekend and finish all the work needed in the booth - spraying the first coats of tinted primer, resanding, spraying the first coats of color, wetsanding, than the remaining coats of color, and than finally the coats of clear.

If all goes as planned, by monday morning she should be ready to roll out of the booth for final buffing, reinstalling the glass, and final reassembly of all other parts!

The Milano Maroon color isn't coming up completely accurately in the pictures (I think because of the flash) but it looks great as seen in person on the doors. It's so nice to finally see some final color on something even if it's only the door insides so far.

Looking Good!!! It should be long before you are behind the wheel and accepting the trophies.

with the exception of one show this year i don't even think about trophies when I am at a show. Usually so many excellent cars I don't expect to win anyway. i'm there to check out the cars, talk to people and just have a good time.
Not that i'd turn down any trophy if I heard my name called...........

thanks!
it's been away for a longer time than it's ever been in my possesion so yes, you are right - I hope I remember how to drive her!

The garage will be easy, most of the stuff I need to get out of the way are her parts I've been storing and I should be getting them out of here over to the shop next week if all goes well for the reassembly. You can say Baby used her own parts to "hold" her spot in the garage.

Yes, getting a bit excited but trying to keep it in check as I'm sure typical of everything else there will be another delay past my hoped-for completion date
