Default Installing a new battery tray....????

I need to install a new battery tray, is it ok to arc weld it or should it be gas welded or ? Mine is shot and I need to get a new one...so.....I recently bought a small arc welder, if I need something else will have to take it someplace to get it welded on.....so what is best?

Not sure what year you are asking about, but my new battery tray (C2/66) just bolted to the frame.

You are talking about the tray on a C1 correct? I cut mine off and welded a new one on. You can get complete ones with supports or ones that you use your existing ones. either arch, gas or mig is fine, which ever you can get a cleaner nicer weld would be my choice.
