I'm pretty pathetic. There are youngsters in the house so unfortunately, we have to keep it pretty tame or watch it in the bedroom.

The only shows I will actually turn on the TV to see are:
1) Star Trek (about to end)
2) Battlestar Galactica (sadly, between seasons)
3) Brit Hume on Fox News, occasionally

We don't get HBO here so I've never heard of Deadwood. What is it like?

A gritty western. Plenty of sex, voilence, etc... They go over the line quite often.

Kinda like the same reasons I watch Fox News ;LOL

Most times if the TV is on it's Bob the Builder, The Wiggles, Christmas Specials (Rudolph, etc.) Noggin, or some other kids show. I have 2 kids (2 and 4). If the T.V. is on, its for them. Crazy huh. We had kicked around getting a big screen plasma for a while. Then we figured, do we really need to see Bob the Builder even larger and in High Def?

Deadwood is pretty f******g good! No American (brain) Idle in this house. I have to admit that Nashville Star isn't to bad. At least those people have writing, playing, and some have singing ability. The "best" has to be Trailer Park Boys, on the BBC America. This show is so weird, wacky, and awful that it is very compelling. Like watching a train wreck. I highly recomend it. I bet it would be very good if you were under the influance.

My 2 favorite shows are no longer on, NYPD Blue and Seinfeld.
So now I watch Las Vegas, Blind Justice, and Third Watch.

During the week, one 1/2 hr. show, Jeopardy, "if" I'm home. Weekends (rarely home) Cops and America's Most Wanted. THAT"S IT!!! I can't stand TV for the most part, now the stereo is a different story.:_rock

Enterprise (Like Tammy said, it's about to end, but these last few shows are quite interesting), CSI, and Fridays on Sci-Fi: Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica. That's the extent of my prime time viewing.

So are the Atlantis shows worth watching then? I've been debating whether to give them a shot. I need something to help me in my quest to become a total vegetable on Friday evenings. If I could rack up a good 3 hours in front of the tube with a martini or two, I think that might qualify :D

I've also been watching:

Cheaters-they take damn good surveillance footage!

CSI: Las Vegas

24-Jack Bauer is such a cool dude with his H&K.:D

Tammy, I think you'd like Atlantis. The premise takes some getting used to- you have to know a bit about the history behind SG-1 (and the Stargates/Ancients), and then you have to have followed the plot.

Atlantis takes place on planet at the far edge of the known universe. The Stargate crew sent there understood when they went that it may be a one way trip.

The bad guys in this series are the Wraith, a group of vampire like beings that feed on the life force of other beings. And humans have become quite a delicacy for them. The series had a season ending cliffhanger a few weeks ago- they've decided they want to find the Earth itself as a feeding ground.

But for me, the best character in this series is the Science Advisor. A self absorbed, hypochondriac, ego-maniacal Canadian. (That ought to provoke a reaction from one or two of our fellow staff. :L )

Law and Order reruns on TNT (RIP Jerry Orbach - we'll miss you Detective Lenny Briscoe)... and Law and Order SVU on USA. Haven't watched regular TV in years since I never missed an episode of Miami Vice.

Other than that I'm watching a movie on one of the premium channels or surfing here.

Now there may be some truth to that........but I always found it to be a very interesting especially in the Brunswick area. Was one of my favorite spots when I was young and single.

I gotta get my Simpson's in every chance I get!Me too! :L

TV's always on in the background so I always hear it if I'm not playing music. (Although even then I sometimes have the volume up on the television as well as the computer at the same time. :L)

I don't get many "premium" channels anymore but I do get the Sci-Fi and FX channels, so I do watch The Shield and Rescue Me in their respective seasons.

Of course, I stay on the alert for anything automotive, or otherwise mechanical in nature, i.e., automobiles, trucks, bikes, trains, boats, planes, rockets, etc.. If it's mechanical in nature I'll watch it. :cool

But that's not all that I watch; depending on my mood and if there's nothing mechanical on, I also watch the home shows such as This Old House and the HGTV channel. But then, I also watch Antiques Roadshow sometimes and some food shows too. :L

Out here in California, we have some excellent shows on the PBS channels hosted by a guy named Huell Howser. He actually formed his own production company: Huell Howser Productions (http://www.calgold.com/) for the various shows such as California's Gold, Visiting With Huell Howser, and more. I try to catch those if I can; great shows focusing on California and its history. :upthumbs

When we moved across the country 4 years ago, we had to stay in the RV for 4 months before the house we were purchasing closed. (Home-owners were waiting for their new house to be completed) The RV had no cable so we had a DVD player, PBS channel and another channel that we could hear but only see snow.
I got out of the habit of watching my Soap Opera AND network series shows and I am much more free! I was really tied to the TV set and didn't see it until I didn't have it...

Now we have satellite and I usually only check out a DIY program about quilting, the Starz channels to see what movies are on, Animal Planet (Animal Cop shows) and lately I have been engrossed in the Deadliest Catch series. These are the only shows I'll make any effort to watch.
Kenny likes the History Channel, Discovery, American Hot Rod and American Chopper. Once in a while I'll sit down and watch them with him...but Paul Sr. is sometimes a little too much for me. But I really like Mikey! :L

Anything on TV Land. Love those old shows. Leave it to Beaver, Dick Van Dyke, Andy Griffith, The Honeymooners. Now that was good TV.
