My Corvette(s): 2002 Torch Red Convertible (SOLD) B2K after Iraq 3
|
Sold our C5 to look for a B2K !!
We sold our C5 to look for a B2K. I'm returning to Iraq (for the third time) and want a super nice B2K upon my return. Lots of research to do yet - great web site and responsive folks (thanks again Chris).
Our 2 main priorities: 1. Must be auto (wife doesn't do stick) 2. This is going to be a driver.
Are there any issues you have with your B2Ks when used as daily drivers? Simple maintence I can do so that doesn't bother me. Although I don't relish changing plugs - wow what a job on our Corvette!!
Thanks for any information and I hope to be in contact through email in Baghdad.

if you maintain them good and drive it right they will last a long time. I know of a couple 120k+ mile cars.

I think what Aurora found for an '88 is awesome! Callaway Aerobody and a convertible w/ the rare automatic
Proper maintenance is key if you drive daily - As Surf said, some cars have crested the 120 k mark.
One HUGE plus is the support that Callaway Cars has been giving the owners of the cars with parts and upgrades - Awesome stuff!
Here is the ad for the 1988 automatic - Be safe! and again, Welcome

Welcome to the forum, when you find the one you want, you'll love it. I drive mine just about every day; the only time I don't is if the weathers bad which isn't too often here in Tucson. Living on base (AF), I don't have far to go to work, so I don't put a lot of miles on her -- just enough to warm her up each day. I take her out on I-10 and on cruises to stretch legs on a pretty regular basis as well. Over all, maintenance has been pretty routine. These cars are built extremely well and to be driven. I had a few problems early on after buying the car, but I chalk most of those up to poor general maintenance and up keep of a previous owner.

Auroa: Seen some nice ones but will purchase AFTER my tour in Iraq is over. It is grand to just do research and "window shopping" for now.

Thanks GP. Really getting in to the research on the B2Ks. Hopefully it will not be too hard to find the right B2K when I return from Iraq. At least before I go I can do plenty of research and get ready to enjoyh the final chase to purchase a B2k upon my return next year or so.
