How many people do you know who live with this illness?

My father has it, and boy is it hard to deal with him.

I tend to a little narrow minded. Does that count?

I don’t think that does.

I ma talking about a disorder that effects there peace and every one around them. In which they have very little control over. Unless the are on meds.

CHL,

You don't have a selection for spouse or child. My daughter is Bi-Polar. :w

Not a lot of response to this poll, eh?

My mother-in-law is diagnosed as schizophrenic, but we believe she fits better in the bi-polar category.

She is in a nursing home, and has been living in one for many years.
Shes full-time medicated, and also has a bunch of other health problems.
Thats probably the main reason shes in the home.

Mental health issues seem to run on my wifes side.

My sister is crazy!!!

When she lived in DC in the late 80's she tried to jump-off some bridge on the beltway, tied-up rushhour traffic for hours. Yeah Rob, that was her!

I have been dealing with clinical depression for a few years now. Some days are good, some are bad.

This is a very interesting thread.

It's actually kind of astonishing the number of people on some kind of psychotrophic medication. I review medical records on a daily basis and see references to these drugs all the time, with the most common being those drugs that control depression and anxiety.

Does depression count as mental illness? Almost all people have that disorder sooner or later in their life time. "Mid life crisis" is another one, but I am not sure what counts in this poll...

Does depression count as mental illness?Clinical depression is a mental illness. Every day sad feelings and grief are not unless they lead to clinical depression. At least those are my thoughts.

ss,
Sorry to stray off the subject but, I was wondering how close you are to Incirlik? Looks like I'll be going that way in Nov via the Air Force.
