Default passenger side headlight stuck

Like the title says- in addition to all the other annoying things going on with my car lately, the passenger side headlight is stuck down. Anyone have the wire routing for this? What is the most common failure point? For a while it was intermittent, but now its been stuck down for some time. I am telling you with all the problems lately, I'm seriously considering trading for the '05 mustang. sigh.... any help appreciated!

you might want to switch the headlight relays to see if that is the problem.....Can you make it go up manualy??? if it won't , its probably the gears gone bad....

Do you hear the motor running (trying to move the headlamp)?

By far, the most common failure is the nylon drive pins in the gears turning to dust..cheap fix if you're mechanically inclined. Try to move the headlamp assembly with the manual knob...if the knob turns, but no action, you can bet the pins are toast. Telltale sign of impending pin failure is jerky operation of the headlamps and/or the headlamp motor running excessively.

Good luck!

My Corvette(s):
1988 Convert/1973 coupe 4 speed/1964 Vert!
Default A 92 HAS NO RELAY for headlights

It's a PC board...
Simple test... lift the hood...
Look at the knobs on the headlight motors
Have an assistant turn ON the headlights.. see both knobs turning?

If not I will pull my shop manual and give you the colors/voltages at the motor.

I agree that the nylon pins are the WORST design of a good intention....

The drive circut is CURRENT CONTROLED so when the motor stalls ( from either hitting the stop point -OR - to much GOO[ ground nylon shavings] in the drive train the motor will ACT dead or make a little stumble to life then stop...

Try that...

Vig~
