Default Z06 is out, so what is MSRP?

Can't find it anywhere, what's the number? It should be official since they showed the car in LA, right?

Any ideas on how many are expected to be produced/production capacity?

Last January GM released data on the C6 and think they waited until April to release pricing. Would imagine it may be same time frame.

There is, and has been, an auction on Ebay for the first 06, Z06 (at this particular dealer). In his auction, the dealer states around $75... That's a big chunch above and beyond a regular C6 and I hope Chevrolet learns from the overpricing mistake of the ZR-1 and keeps it reasonable... say mid-way between a highly optioned coupe and highly optioned vert as base... meaning a highly optioned Z06 would be a few thousand more than a vert... say $60-$65. Car and Driver has an article on the new Z and they are also estimating a base price of $60-$65.

Now given the car's capabilities, I imagine it could run with the Viper in price range and get away with it... of course the general will not sell nearly as many units (how often do you see Vipers cruising the streets?! I see Z06's all the time!).

That auction was the second one. The first 2006 Z06 auction was 4515573656, which opened with a no-reserve starting bid of $55,000 and closed with a winning bid of $65,100. I'm thinking the MSRP will be between $60 and $65 large, with GM discounts coming after the first 6 months.

It has been said that the Z06 will be the most expensive Chevrolet yet, so going by that the ZR-1 was $70000 so probably about $72000 since the Z06 has a handbuilt engine special frame, body panels, and more. Production will be limited because the Wixom plant can only build 15000 engines a year and that includes the engines for the Cadillac STS-V, SPO service engines, engineering test engines & there is scrapage.
My best guess is 6-7000 units. Prices should be out about April-May when pilots jobs are run.

Hmmmm, maybe the good folks at Chevy are watching the forums to see how the Corvette crowd is taking the anticipated pricing of the new Z06, looking to see what the market will bare.... so with that in mind everybody chime in... $45,000 and no higher!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By whom?

I'd wait for some time if the number is much over $60k. The job thing is waaay to soft and my possible retirement pays lots less. Some boys' dreams die harder than others.

If you're right, they'll sell 'em as fast as they can build 'em. I've heard several dealers say they expect the MSRP to be close to what a fully optioned vert will be. I don't think you'll see many discounts the first year though, unless they price it way to high to begin with.

Default gas gussler tax?

Did they beat that tax? Saw a new Viper at a dealership--tax was $3k for this.

No one can win an auction on a car that hasent been produced let alone have a MSRP. Who ever won the bid is an idiot since if he won the bid at $65000 and the car sells for possibly $70-72 K he wont get his car.
Remember no production Z06's have been built the cars you see are prototype or lead units and cannot be sold.
