Default Surprise Video of new Z06 Under Cover - Convertible

I saw this link on my other favorite board. Decide for yourself but it looks like the big surprise is a Convertible and the ability to go see your engine built in person.

bly byu (John) if you're reading this thanks for posting it on the other site.

I think the player truncates the file name when you cut and paste.

Thanks for the help.

hmmmmm... 15 engines per day - well thats 15 x 5 days (assuming no overtime) x 50 weeks = 3750 engines per year - just a little something to think about -

This is a must see for all of you engine junkies out there.

Sweet I have to say.

How ever I am skeptical about a Convertible Z06.

When was the video released ?

That's a old video. It was from a news clip from a TV station, a pre-view of the Detroit Auto Show in January. The vert was just a covered C6 vert not a Zo6 vert. A Zo6 vert would be a cool car to have.

That was a cool video. Only 15 engines a day? I think they're going to end up doing more than that if demand gets higher.

The car did not have Z06 wheels. He also said "15 engines off each of these lines", didn't he? Maybe there is more than one, so more engines than calculated above.

Do you think they use tape while building those?

They most likely will have a small stockpile before the actual Z06 production begins. That way they will have a buffer of probably a few hundred engines before the demand begins to hit. They will also need that extra stock for possible warranty replacement and over-the-counter sales.

I thought that the initial news on the new engine building was that they could produce up to 10,000 per year. That's a pretty good number if it's factual.
