Default Muffler Elims!!!

Well I went up to our local exhaust with my friend a few days ago because he had a broken hanger on his El Camino. When I got there, I asked them what it would cost to cut the mufflers and they told me, (are you ready for this?), $30!!!!. I was speechless and I had them do it right then and there. They cut the mufflers and welded in pipe and welded the tips back in and welded new hangers in place. The guy that did it thought I was stupid but I assured him that it'll sound good. When it was all done all the guy could was holy crap, that does sound good. He did the whole job in 30 minutes. I was so happy that I gave him a $10 tip.
The car sounds so awesome now. I can actually tell there's a V8 under the hood. The idle is great and WOT when I had my friend drive by me was unreal. There is some resonance at 2500-3000 and I love it. Cruising on the highway, I hardly can tell any thing has been done, it's not too loud at all. (Actually, I'd eventually like it to be a little louder). Anyway to sum up, muffler elims for $30 plus $10 tip=awesome sound= priceless.

It sure sounds awesome, doesn't it? Now the neighbors will know when you leave and arrive! At least my neighbors know when I do.

An exhaust tone can be intimidating. It will be like "the art of fighting without fighting."

TeeHee!!! I was thinking the same thing New Years Eve when I took the side pipes off my side mount headers to see how she would sound without the glass pack inserts. I just about got a stiffy when I fired her up. I promptly went upstairs and ordered a new pair of side pipes ($200) so that I can run her with wide open pipes. I can't wait for spring to hear her at WOT!!! Hopefully she won't blow out my ears.

After much deliberation on which way to go I have decided to eliminate the mufflers. The only thing I am waiting on right now is waiting a littler closer to spring so I don't having the thing teasing me for so long!
