Without Owens the Eagles are a shell of a team.

They probably won't even make the superbowl more or less win it without him.

Without the Eagles the NFC doesn't have a chance. None of the other teams even come close. That leaves the Pats or the Steelers in the drivers seat. I'm taking the Steelers by a nose, although the Pats could obviously repeat easily.

The Rams, Vikings. Falcons and Hawks are total throw-away teams and the Pack just don't have enough weapons. . .

That's my take, anyway. :D

Ripp 76

I have to go with my home team of the Colts. Even though they are playing horribly against the Broncos right now. Maybe they are playing a simpathy card for them and allowing them to play in the post season? Either way, they were close last year, they have it in their blood now.

What no Bears :cry yeah I guess they are as pathetic as they come. I went against the colts, only because they probably will win. I chose the eagles, I dont know why since I dont really care for Terrel Owens. I dont think him bieng out will hurt them that much. But lets face it, could be anyone of those teams.

I voted for my team the Patriots. I think it will be Steelers and Patriots for afc champ. Even though the Steelers beat us in the regular season we were without Corey Dillon. With Dillon in the lineup and revenge at stake i'll take the Pats. I really think it will be Pats vs Eagles in the Bowl and be one hell of a game if both teams have all thier weapons.

The Pats have my vote, and not because I'm from MA. I've always been a Raider fan (I loved those helmuts when I was a kid) myself.
But there's not a more complete team in football than the Patriots. That organization has done one helluva job of putting together a squad of "team players." There's not a superstar among them (well, there's a few), and they play together as a team as well as any I've ever seen.

The Steelers, without a doubt. The Steelers have done a TREMENDOUS job this year... 15 - 1...no other AFC team has ever won 15 games before. I remember the Steelers of the 70's.... this team is almost as good as they were. Big Ben- Hines Ward- Plex- The Bus- Duce-, the list goes on. I'm fairly sure the Pats will be making another trip to Pittsburgh for the AFC championship game, but we will not lose to them like we did in 02. I was at that game, and will be at this one too. Get ready Jacksonville....you will be invaded by thousands of black and gold fans in Feb. It's finally time for us to get the "one for the thumb".
HERE WE GO STEELERS--- HERE WE GO !!!!! :upthumbs

I think the Eagles can still make it to the Super Bowl in a weak NFC. The real treat will be watching the AFC matchups.

If the Eagles and get to the Super Bowl and Owens makes a quick recovery, anything can happen in that one game. :D

From what I have read it should be finished in time for the 2008 season. It is to hold 63,000 people but could be expanded it hold 70,000 people to make it eligible to host a Super Bowl.

Gonna be a tough game Patriots and Indy. Looks like the Pats are gonna be pretty light in the secondary with no Law or Seymour. But we are playing in Foxboro and Manning usually doesn't play well against us.

What's the weather supposed to be like in NE for the game? The worse the weather, the worse the Colts will do. Their air game could effectively be grounded, leaving their running and defense to win.

reubenmc
01-10-05, 07:05 AM
After the COLTS!!! beat the Pats.....it would be easyer to beat the Jets then to beat the Steelers. So I've got to cheer for the Jets.....now if they could figure out some way in the world to be the Steelers!!

Edmond.....you are right about the weather in the COLTS/pats game. That will more than likely decide the game.

It is supposed to get really cold this weekend. I am not as worried about the Pats playing the Steelers. Last time we played we had no corey Dillon and no running game. This time will be differrent. Jets gave the Steelers a good run last time they played. Would be nice to have the Jets upset them.

Right now I'd say the Steelers present a much better matchup for the Patriots than Indy does. If Indy starts to pick apart that suspect NE secondary, it'll be a long day for the Pats. Ty Law being out really hurts, but Bilichek has had two weeks to prepare for Indy, so I still expect the Pats to win this one.
The Steelers just don't have the offense capable of beating the Pats with everything on the line.

The Pats are still the team to beat.

Eagles should be the NFC team in the Super Bowl. I see today the Pats are signing on some defensive players for the playoffs. And Vanderjagts comments about the Patriots are only gonna motivate them even more. Should be a juiced up game. I don't know if I'll be able to watch Sunday I'll be so tense.lol

Edmond

Belichek will have his guys prepared despite the injuries. He's really one of those coaches that runs schemes to the strength of his personnel. When he became head coach, I was kind of pessimistic but his success has proven that he's a good coach.

If the Pat's defensive line can get pressure on Peyton, the NE secondary problems won't be as magnified. Gotta win the battle in the trenches! :beer

It is gonna be a close game at Pittsburgh. I cannot see it being too high a scoring game given we were able to hold the NFL's #1 Offense to 3 points and the Steelers offense is only rated 16th and they got gift from the Jets in their game. Steelers defense is #1 but I think Dillon will still be able to run abit and that will be one thing helping the Pats that they didn'thave in the regular season game against the Steelers. That Pats game was great! As soon as they jumped out to the 10-0 lead the Steelers were gonna have to throw more and Big Ben threw 3 picks. I was wrond though about it not being a high scoring game. If Pats win the Super bowl Bill Bellichik will pass Vince Lombardi as the winningist coach in the play offs if I read the stat right. B.B has 2 weeks to prepare for the Eagles and he'll be ready with a game plan. then it is in the hands of the players to execute it.

The Eagles have been grounded! Looks like Freddie Mitchell was all talk and no action. And Harrison is the one who had something for Freddie and it was called 2 INTS!! Incredible game it was a fight all the way especially after eugene Wilson got hurt. Reid got burned a couple plays badly.

It was a good game but I'm dissapointed that the Eagles lost; it was the wrong game to have a bad day, but #5 was clearly off target all day. It sure looked like it might make it into OT but the Eagles shot themselves in the foot:cry.
I just hope the fans in Philly don't forget they are the NFC Champs and give them a nice welcome home.

Unfortunately in the end it wasn't the Patriots that beat the Eagles. The Eagles beat themselves. Without the self inflicted turnovers the outcome definitely would have been different.

I thought the Patriots looked terrible in the first half, but you have attribute that to the excellent Philly "D."
Philly didn't beat themselves, they were beaten by a better team, that also has an excellent, physical "D."
Philly was down by 10 for most of the second half, save for a late TD.

Incorrect, they beat themselves by turning the ball over. McNabb's first two interceptions were not forced by the Patriots, they were just bad passes. Then LJ Smith's fumble which may have been forced by the Patriots but Smith should have went down and not let himself be held and stripped. These opportunities in the NE zone would have translated into a minimum of 9 points and probably more.

Those turnovers were a direct result of the pass rush they put on him early in the game. His comfort level in the pocket was non existant. When QB's start to "hear" the pass rush, like McNabb did, they have a tendancy get happy feet, and they're throws are high.....a LOT of his incompletions were way overthrown. Put him in there against any NFC team, and McNabb's looking like the QB going to the Pro Bowl.

Ed, JJS is right. Our pass rush was working well. That last touchdown was the direct result of a rookie at safety not playing the ball correctly. Had Eugene Wilson been in the game at that time that pass would have been picked off. Eagles played a great game and they deserve credit for that. The Patriots were the better team both on the field and on paper. The Pats offense came out flat and had a poor first half but the D kept them in it. They got to halftime tied at 7 and made the adjustments and came out the second half looking much sharper. McNabb is a good quarterback but he got flustered and made some mistakes. Brady is just cool as a cucumber out there and just flat out handled the pressure better. It was a great game and definitely exciting to watch.
