1993 Medium Quasar Blue Metallic Coupe
Default Finally!!!!

Well, after all this time 2 reps from my insurance company drove some 200 miles to my house to inspect the shoddy repair work done to my Vette by their recommended "GOLD STAR CERTIFIED" pro body shop. They were pretty p*ssed off and apologetic, but remained calm and professional. They took alot of pictures.

Now the 3 of us are looking at a couple of other pro body shops for the re-do. This all started after I was side-swiped a while ago. Grateful as I was that the shop put my baby back together again, I was not happy with the final results and just pretty much gave in mentally after a series of mishaps at their shop involving the Vette. These folks even damaged the car twice themselves after they put it back together again!!! After that I said to h*ll with them and started complaining to my insurance company.

Just a few of my complaints--
*hood never aligned properly which in turn goofed up the alignment of the headlight bezels---now I have a headlight motor acting wiggy after their (not OEM) screws worked their way outta the housing and caught on the hood.
*airbox screws turned too far thru lid poked holes in brand new condenser.
*passenger glass scratched cause the replacement door had trash, i.e., leaves, glass, twigs inside the door they never cleaned out.
*passenger door is RED!!!! Body shop never painted inside of door behind door panel, but trimmed it in black so you couldn't tell. How'd I find out? The window guide just fell apart and down in the door while I was driving the car (with the windows up). Took the panel off and there's red staring me in the face!!!!!
*fingerprints on the rear deck trim
*fingerprints in the paint on the inside of the side mirror----Come OHN! Fingerprints!?!!!! How tacky, thoughtless, unprofessional and trifling is that?!!!

Anyway, hopefully this new shop will correct these problems.
I'll keep y'all posted.

I am cautiously optimistic.

Maybe they are actually Gold Star Chili Certified. Because it sounds like they don't know much about Vettes. Good luck. I hope everything works out to your satisfaction.

That is just ridiculous!! What do these places take people for idiots? To think you would accept a job like that. I would be PIZZED! Maybe you could post the name . Places like this should not even be in business. I hope you get it straightened out. Good Luck, Guy
