My Corvette(s): 1984 Silver Coupe | Rims
Hi all. Just wanted to know if anyone has ever seen these rims before and where they could be purchased? They have little black caps that push into the allen head bolts that go around the inside and I have a few missing and can't find replacements. Sorry I didn't embed the image in the email but I couldn't figure out how to do it.

OOPS! I guess it embedded it on its own. If you click on the pic it will get larger. Thanks for looking. Mike

I never saw those wheels on a Corvette, or maybe I just wasn't looking. They sorta remind me of a Mercedes or BMW wheel. Who manufactures them?

Ken, I don't know who makes them. They came with the car. I figured they must have been an aftermarket wheel from Chevy but no such animal. Not too good a pic of them. When shined up though they look really nice.

Did you look at the inside of the wheels? As a rule MFGs put some kind of markings inside. If you find some enter them in google, amazing what it finds.
BTW I think they actually look kind of good. | |

Look on P. 152 of the "Cor-Vette Specs" book... they look like the Corvette Challenge wheels (which are shown w/out center caps in the book).

Those in Mike's book don't appear the same to me Rich. The ones in the book don't seem to have as deep a dish to them and they also appear to have the cooling fins similar to those in the factory wheel.

1984C4's rims look to me like they have cooling fins, but they're hard to see at the angle of the picture. Could be my eyes, though. But if you stuck center caps on those Challenge wheels, they'd look closer than anything else I've ever seen...

Thanks for all the posts so far guys. They are 2 piece rims. The center piece is held on with allen head bolts that go around the circumfrence and capped with those little black plastic circles. The center cap is also held in place by one allen head screw also. They really do look great on a vette but they struck me as strange when I bought her as I had never seen rims like it before. They could be over 20 years old and not made anymore.
