I do know it has a habit of bursting into flames depending on how pure the alloy is that is being machined, i have seen a couple of our workshop lathes go up in flames.

Can't open the files on my daughters laptop and for some reason it wont let me download a pdf reader, is there any other way to see them ???? I am interested in having a read. I work for a world wide material testing company and we do have a large automotive division which does everthing from cutting up engine blocks for visual inspection to testing full size chassis and just about everything else in between for all of the big three.

Aircraft engines use magnesium on the engine cases in the rear (accessory drive case). I am not familiar with a cessna roasting the airframe in flight.

Quite frankly, a few pounds of magnesium don't scare me. The 20 gallons of gasoline might cause for pause...ask Earnhardt, Jr.
