We don't snow here at the beach in the Carolinas, but its really cold. about 25 now, went downt o 19 last night - but it may not climb above freezing here and that is very very rare that it doesn't rise above freezing at all.

Anyhow, i was going to take my Vette shopping today - I am sure IT could handle the cold, but I can't!

I actually got out to drive mine right before the cold snap. It is freezing here, although it is 19 now. What a long winter it will be.

I was going to put mine to bed for the winter and stop the insurance until spring to save $$. Until I found the classic auto insurance from a thread, here. Now the insurance is so cheap, I can drive the car year round and on sunny days this winter. I fugure it's best to drive it around a bit this winter rather than let it sit. Don't think I could wait until spring anyway.
Drove through 2 ft of snow in Mich City yesterday before highway closed-- not in the vette! Although followed some poor guy in a Miata trying to get through.

Ours is in bed already. Had the front end repainted, new lenses. She looks like new. Friday was a beautiful day but controlled myself and drove the Jeep instead. On Saturday saw a C-6 out in the freezing rain. Must be someone who doesn't care about salt etc. I know it's fiberglass but still. Seems ashame to have it out in that kind of weather. Especially when the roads were getting slippery.

Thanks,

Donna

Frame is still steel and the suspension is aluminum, that has got to look ugly after you get salt on it. I just put mine away today, still got to take it out on Sunday.

Goodnt , what is the insurance you have ?

Mine is temproarily sleeping till the snow clears probably in time for the weekend. It is better to drive them than let them sit. I just wash mine down once a week with the hot pressure washer and all is good.

Its not so much the salt I worry about...its all the sand and tiny stones the trucks spread on the roads. Then other cars kick this stuff up and pit the front of the car.

Goodnt can you steer me to the classic auto insurance you mentioned? I have a restored '55 Chevy Belair that sits in the garage all the time, I drive it about 6 times a year or maybe to work when the Vette is in the shop but I carry full coverage on it and I think I can do better.

Thanks......................Bob
