Default L98 frisbee removal

Been meaning to do this simple mod for years, and finally did it on Sunday.

http://www.geocities.com/jgkov/Frisbee.html

What I found on my water pump is that the studs are tapered, so I couldn't put new bolts into the w/p, so I just left the studs in and put washers on the other end after I removed the frisbee, so the pulley would be snug against the w/p. The frisbee is heavy, I can understand what the website means by "parasitic drag". Seems like the engine would have to work harder to spin that thing in stop-and-go traffic, but what do I know.

Drove around today with a/c on, and for the life of me I can't figure out why the frisbee was there in the first place, there was no discernible difference in the way my car idled or when the a/c compressor cut off and on. No vibration whatsoever. Maybe the engineers were worried that that the belt would slacken if someone jammed the accelerator and the belt would fly off. I dunno. Well, mine is off for good anyway.
