The timing is just wrong for me; I've got too many other things on, or will be on, my shopping list already to concern myself with model cars now. If it's still available in the future, I'd think about it. ;)
Good lookin' out for us Rob. :upthumbs

Come on now, I can't be the only one that thinks this is really cool.

COUNT ME OUT... I CHANGED MY MIND
Rob, do you know if it comes in any other color? If it comes in black, count me in.
Lou, the CR5 is only raced in yellow/white livery correct? :confused
Rob, do these people have the car available as well? Will the CACC benefit if I bought it through them, or should I just buy it wherever I find it? :confused
_ken
I was thinking more along the lines of putting my 1:18 Ertl white 62 on that trailer:)
Ken,
The CACC does not get any kind of a benefit from the sales. They merely offered us a group discount for our members. That was it.

I'm with you Lou, I'm gonna put my little Mako on there. :upthumbs

I'll do one, I'll paint the trailer black, I have to paint the hardtop black on my ERTL anyway.

Hi Craig,
I will contact the company in the morning and get all the details then post them here.

Sounds good! Will they arrive by Christmas if we pay Tuesday?
I'm trying to read the fine print on the ad but can't make it out. Maybe the vintage is black or the new order form will be clear.

No word on these yet?

It only comes in yellow or red.
I've spoken with the company and we've agreed to handle the ordering process in the following way: in order to insure the group discount, I will place an order for the units and they'll be shipped to me.
The price per unit is $27.75. Shipping and handling is $3.00 for a total of $30.75. Please make checks payable to me at the following address:
Robert Loszewski
Corvette Action Center
1511 North Point Dr. Suite 302
Reston, VA 20194-2121
For verification, I have the following people listed who are interested. If this is incorrect, please let me know:
1. 71shark
2. singledad_9
3. twiget
4. 75corvette (1 red, 1 yellow)
5. Ken
6. rowdy1
7. marcho polo
So that's 8 units. Also, I mentioned previously, that the Corvette Action Center was not going to benefit financially from the sale of these. After speaking with the company, they have agreed to sell the units to me for just a little less than the advertised group discount. So, yes, the Corvette Action Center will benefit from the sale of these and I wanted to be up front about that.
I also want to be clear that the money made off the sale of these is going directly back into the site for hosting fees. I'm not interested in lining my own pockets.
If I missed anyone in the list above, please let me know. I will be placing the order with the company later today.

As the saying goes, the check is in the mail;).

Thanks Rob and I'm glad the site will make a small profit for your time and trouble. I will put the check in the mail tomorrow for a red one. I'll also include a note with shipping address and color with the check.

Dropped the check in the mail this afternoon! I included the color I want (Yellow) and my shipping address.
Are you shipping them or are they going to ship them direct?

Thanks for putting this together, I had been thinking about getting one, but the deal you got made my mind up for me!
I've been away on vacation for the last week and will be gone for another week. I won't be back home till then. This is my one and only vacation for the forseeable future, so everything is pretty much on hold till I can get back home and back in the saddle again.

Rob,
Thanks for the update! Enjoy the time off, I'm at home right now as well for the holidays. Only time all year I've had off....
:L Have you heard this one before? "The check is in the mail." I sent it out this afternoon. ;)

Isn't there more to that saying Ken? And I "promise" I won't, oh now I remember, I can't do that here.

It figures. I found this site 2 days after I bought one on E-Bay for $34.95. I thought this was a good deal until I read this thread. Oh well, I'll know to check here first next time.

Ok, this brings me back to my question of whether the company sells the C5R as well, and if so, it would behoof me to purchase mine through that company so the CACC will benefit from it.
The thing is, just who is the company? I see nothing in the advertisement, or anywhere else in this thread, that identifies the manufacturer/reseller.
_ken
I spoke with the company this morning. They do not sell the C5-R Corvette car.
The Diecast Trailer and Shop kits came in today so I will be shipping them out on Saturday morning.
Sounds good to me Rob and THANKS again for your time and effort.:D

fantastic! I can't wait to put my #3 car on there! (I've got the old Action #3 car, not the Dale car!)
I'd like to get the AutoArt Le Mans cars when they are released. I like those better than the Action.

Mail has come today (Friday) and I still haven't received mine yet.... were they sent regular mail or UPS?
Looking forward to the set!!!!
Mine came yesterday and it is awesome. I can't wait to get my Ertl. corvette done to match my 62 and set it up with the rest of my diecast collection. Painting the hard top black is no problem, the Cragar's and the L88 hood scoop is another thing but I have a friend that says he can make a hood to look just like it. "If" and when I get it done, and learn how to use my new digital camera I'll try to post some pictures of my "unit":eek

It'll be here on Monday then! I think I had you send it to my work address, and they don't deliver over the weekend. No problem! I know it will be here next week then!
Thanks Rob for purchasing them and mailing them out! I mail a lot of packages and I know it can be a pain sometimes.
They almost didn't go out till Monday. If it wasn't for the fact, that I took the Vette with me, I wouldn't have made to the P.O. in time! ;) ;) ;)
Just let me know when you get it. I did send it to your company address.

Rob,
Mine showed up today finally! I kept checking the mail yesterday before I realized it was a postal holiday!
My #3 C5R car is at home, but I've got a yellow Z06 here at work sitting on the trailer playing with it until I can take it home this evening!
Here's my C5R car at home:

Thanks Rob. :upthumbs
Question for those that have them already: what are the little yellow pieces that are found in the bag with the ramps and tire rack supposed to be used for? :confused
_ken :w
They are the trailer hitches for the trucks! Aha!!

They look to me like you could attach them to a truck and make a hitch out of it. They seem to have different offsets to accomodate different truck heights.... make sense? The ball fits nicely under the trailer.

GMP makes a red trailer set with the "crossed flag" instead of the C5 racing emblem. I'm getting the red for my GS cars and the yellow for my C5R's.
:cool I'll check 'em out. Thanks Whitey.

I'm thinking. very nice collection, but where's the truck to pull all this iron?:confused
I'm already ponderin' that one Lou. Got my eyes open. ;)

Assuming this is still the case:
I'll start it up! Mark me down for another one, now if only 7 more members want them:). I figure my dad's 1/18th 67 will look pretty sharp on one of these, my 57 sure does.

Ken,
I picked up a nice gold Chevy 3500 extended cab dually at ToysRus. Around $22. I've got the #80 GS with the "Flying Dentist's" autograph on it. This June I hope to get his and Dick Gulstrand's autograph on the #10 Penskey GS Roadster.
:cool I'll look for it.
