My Corvette(s):
1986 black convertible pace car
Default Rattle detection C4 convert.

My 86 covertible has developed an annoying little rattle anytime I run over anything larger than a seam in the pavement.

Basically its near my left ear when I drive, very near the seatbelt upper mount area. Seems to be coming from the driverside upper mid-section. behind door, infront of rear wheel.

I dug into it today, removed small carpet piece to gain access to the noisey area to find all top support arms and joints are tight, deck lid rests secure,
nor could I find anything loose in the doorjam area..

this is driving me crazy, anybody experience this one?

Yea I have kind of stopped looking for squeks, and rattles in my vert. I just turn the radio up louder . Could it be the latch on the deck lid is not adjusted down all the way? Just a thought.

My Corvette(s):
86 Black Vert "Indy 500 Pace car replica"
Default

My vert has it share of squeaks and noises. I have stopped looking for them. I found that the deck lid can rattle, the sun visors in mine was making noise. I even had a noise coming from the exterior mirrors. I love driving with the top down, because there are no noises, just the open road.
