My Corvette(s):
Default It runs!!!

Hi Members,

Last february, I bought a 1974 coupe from visone auto in London Kentucky...$ 3,500.00 They said it ran, but was real rough...basically figured at that price I was buying a complete rolling chasis with a clear title. Got it back here to Wisconsin, and wow! It had a 305 for an engine...shot of course. So, since then, I bought a manifold and carb from Bud, an engine # 3970010 from a friend, put the basics together, re-did the engine and installed in the car. For now, I re-installed the HEI ignition...do have a tach drive dist ...maybe go back to that...well., after a few choice cuss words, the engine started and to my amazement, it goes like hell. Did a few donuts, laid a few patches last weekend and put her back into the garage. I re-did the engine compartment before putting the motor back in...some new wiring, vacumn lines and a few other parts and that area will be done..then its on to the brakes and underside of the car..Looks now though that theres not too much to fix. Some fiberglas work, then the paint and a new interior.....cool. I've learned alot about the vette in the past few months..but the most important thing is to just go for it. Its been fun so far and the investment relatively minor...good luck to others doing what I'm doing, a rolling restoration..

Is that the same Visone company that got into trouble with the Florida attorney general for some kind of selling gimick? They used to have two offices, one in Boston and one somewhere in Florida. I called them years ago to inquire on the price and condition of one of their cars. They absolutely could not/would not tell me the price of the car. Kept trying to tell me about monthly payments etc. Needless to say, I walked awy from there quickly.

Cant be the same outfit. This guy Terry at Visone was pretty honest about what I was buying and he did everything he said he would do.
I didnt expect much, so when it was better than I expected...no complaints. By the way, I used allegience car movers out of Milwaukee Wisconsin...they were great and HONEST.
