Default Pulling Codes on 94 LT1

I have a 94 LT1 Coupe 6 Speed could someone give me some insight as to how to pull the codes and then what they mean, I've never done this before so I need all the help I can get

Default Paperclip method for pulling codes.

The 94 will have the OBDI computer but may have a 16 pin ODBII connector. (The connector is under the dash by your right knee). If so, take a small paperclip and short pin 5 and 12, counting the upper left as pin 1. Then turn the key to on but do not crank. Then watch as the codes from the seperate computers are listed on the speedo display. If it is an ODBI connector then it will have fewer pins. Haynes manual has detailed instructions for that one. I can get it for you tonight if needed.
