Ok friends, will this GM crate engine zz383/425 hp work with a TPI system from a 1989 vette? If not, which crate GM motor are you saying I should get? I want atleast 350 hp Thanks ,Doug Castner

I thought it was meant to be used with a carb? They usually say that those crate motors are for cars 74' and before. I think that's for emissions purposes.

It will work only if you obtain and install a TPI intake specially designed for the vortec heads on this engne. I believe Scroggens Dickey sells it. Should make well over 350 hp but not 425 because of the intake restrictions. But you can make it fit.

Have you considered have a short block built for you and then doing the rest of it?
