Pricing advice needed

I have the chassis out from under my 59 and am preparing to order a new SRIII tube frame. My questions are: Should I sell the complete rolling chassis, or would I be better off (in terms of generating income) to part out and sell off individual components? What is the going price on a complete rolling chassis? The frame is in great shape except that the rear x-member is rusted out at the corners. The kickups are good. Obviously, there is some surface rust.

The posi-trac rear is original to the car. What is it worth if sold seperately?
What is the front suspension worth, if sold seperately?
What is the frame worth by itself?
The T-10 tranny is original to the car. What is it worth? Sell with original shifter, or without? Shifter shifts smoothly and the T handle works. Only the knob is incorrect (chrome).

I have lots of other parts that I will be trying to sell and will most likely ask for advice on them too. But they can wait. The above will get me started. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

Wes congradulations on going foward with your car.I cant help you with pricing (I am not sure my self) Check the post earlier this month by me asking for pricing advice.

But I had made a deal for the majority of my parts to be sold to one fellow and when he showed up at my house (after the frame was loaded on his trailer) the deal went bad and I unloaded my frame from his trailer.(It was the entire princable of trying to re-do the deal after the parts were on his trailer that made me ANGRY! If he wanted to change the deal before it was loaded I may have still sold him the frame but once it was loaded and strapped down (May I add in the rain) I fealt as if the fellow thought I was a fool and I hate to be made someones fool)

So now I am selling my parts on eBay.Its pretty easey to do and pretty affourdable ,The only problem is the packaging I over packagage ever thing so it does not get damaged. I also placed in my eBay advertizements that I have other parts for sale and have sold a ton of stuff off ebay from the buyers sending me emails. The other big problems is that it is cutting into my car building time.This weekend I had very little building time all of my time was spent taking pictures of parts,finding boxes and packaging material.wrighting the advertizements,placing the advertizements, so that I can sell them on ebay once they sell I will have to package the stuff and then ship them.all cutting into building time.So you have to wiegh out was is more valuble to you.I certainly did not want to become a used parts saleman.

But before the deal fell apart with the fellow I was selling my parts to he said it was good he was buying them from me otherwise they would have just sat around for ever.witch I probably would have let happen,but because I am so stubborn I decided I WILL SELL every thing I am not using just to prove him wrong (not that he will ever know that)But I will know myself. So the moral to this long winded story is for sure you would make less money selling a package deal,but its done quick and you can get back to building wright away.

I did read your earlier pricing post, but really didn't take from it what I needed to know. I was hoping that "fair market value" was cut and dried, but apparently that is not the case as I've seen a whole gamut of prices for similar parts. Guess I'll continue to research, as I've still got some time.

As I may have told you, we had a house fire way back on Memorial weekend and have been out of the house since then, living in an apartment. After 4+ months out, we're due to move back in this week (yea!). However, my mom passed away about three weeks ago and I was named executor. This is going to keep me even busier over the next year trying to liquidate the assets.

I really want this car done, but in light of these recent developments (what a year it has been!) I have decided that the easiest and quickest way is to farm the project out. I'm looking for someone in the Oklahoma/ Texas area that can provide quality work on the body, chassis and engine. I you or anyone else knows of someone, please let me know.

Wes sorry for your mom passing ,as for the fire I have dealt with that also with my brother losing his house several years ago so to think your even contenplating this project WOW I dont think I could muster up the personal energy to deal wiith all of that and car the same year.

Now as for the car I can tell you personally I would not entrust any one but my self to do it (meaning not a car builder but the owner himself,I am sure there are car builder WAY more quailified them me,but on a custom car it evoulves every day).there are so many decistion you need to make daily.Ill give you an example I contructed my gauge package for my car,installed my steering column and steeringl wheel.I just did not like the feel to it so I lowered my colum and brought the column in a tad,a normal car builder would have left it as is.I could go on for hours with other little things but I wont. If I was going to pay some one to do my project I would see if mike from SR111 has an open spot for the car.He would be the best quailified he has done a ton of them.Hiring some one who has never done this type of a convertion could go into the thousands just having them source the needed parts for the project.I havent updated my web site but there a tone of stuff you have to do to make it custom. Allthough you could just drop a stock body on the car You still have some work ahead of you,Steering column,shifter,bumpers and brackets,brake system,excaust system, John M is better quailified to explain more of the stuff I havent figured out yet,

I have about 30 hours just in the design and building of my mock up door panels and the type of door handels and door pull I am using,No apoulstry has even hit it yet (that I am haveing a pro cover in leather).

Well good luck and if I was you,I would order the frame as soon as you find a place to keep it while under construction and you could spend a year just aquiring material needed by then maybee you would have the time to build it your self.I am doing stuff to my car I never in a million years would have thought I could do.(cast a dash cluster? what was I thinking THANKS JOHN MaGraw) anyway good luck and if your going to hire some one use SR111 he has the exspereance
