My Corvette(s):
1973 4-speed Coupe FOR SALE/ SOLD!!!!
Default blower switch,selector question

the face of that control panel on the console that controls the heater hot cold, vent floor defrost etc etc is chipped and I want to repaint it, the chrome edges are great it just needs some freshening up. How hard is it to take those two wheels off and disassemble it to refinish the face properly? Any suggestions???

It's a very simple and extremely satisfying part of the car to restore. Disconnect the battery. Remove the two round knobs that control the 'astro ventilation' vents , then the four screws that hold the entire panel to the center console. Remove the shift knob and handle. If yours is stuck, leave it alone and remove the four screws that hold the leather boot to the console instead.

The remainder of the panel is disassembled from underneath -pretty obvious once you see it.
