My Corvette(s):

Default WTB - 72 LT-1 Distributor

Getting down to the final stages of the restoration of my '72 and looking for a few final pieces!.I am interested in a delco points type distributor part #1112101 or according to Alan Colvin's book " Corvette by the Numbers" part # 1112167 which was a 2nd design for the 1972 LT-1 and since I have a very late production number car, would be the most likely for my car.
If any one can help out,I would appreciate it very much.My e-mail is rvazquez@snet.net

Hi rvasquez, If you have a copy of "Driveline" you may look in the 'parts F/S' section. Also they have a number of advertizers. Also there is a salvage yard down in Phila. Pa. it is very big. If I find their # I'll send it. Good luck and the paint looks super from that small picture! Tom. Contemporary Corvettes in Bristol Pa. is the sakvage yard.

Are you aware that just about any distributor, set up to LT1 specs, can be an LT1 distributor? Buy yourself a repro aluminum band for the neck, and you have a distributor that should be identical to the unit that came on your car.

Default Thanks for the heads up

Gary, thanks for the info on the distributor, aside for the provisions for a tach drive I didn't know that they were all the same.Crane Corvette wrote to me and said they had a rebuilt one for $275 but i'm looking at all the salvage places I can find to try and find one that needs to be rebuilt.Again,thanks for the info

Thanks Tom, I called Contemporary Corvette and they said they didn't have any Tach drive distributors right now,but they told me to check back from time to time to see if they got one in! I am trying other places and maybe I'll have some luck there.Again thanks for the info
