My Corvette(s):
1984 Black
Default 1984 6 Speed

I'm new to this forum and I am looking for some info.
I've put a 96 ZF 6speed in my 84 4+3.

There are a number of left over wires to the computer from the 4+3 tranny.

Do these wires have to be removed and should the computer chip be changed?

I really don't think it's going to make a difference. The ECM will still send a signal for the transmission to go to overdrive, the trans just won't be receiving that signal. I don't think it's gonna pose a problem, but I could be wrong.

Most likely those wires once ran to the actuators which controlled the O.D. and ran from sensors that told the ECM the O.D. condition and, perhaps, the current gear selection in the four-speed. I'd cut them or tie them off and out of the way. They're no longer needed and the 84's diagnostics aren't sophisticated to tell they're disconnected.
