Default CAGS defeat in a 1994 ZR-1

Hi all,

I just purchased a cags defeat kit for a 1994 ZR-1 with the ZF-6 transmission (of course). My question is that I thought these kits included a 2.2 kilo-ohm resistor in the connector to keep from getting a check engine light.

The kit I purchased only has two caps to protect from dirt getting into the connectors and no resitor. If I simply unplug the cags in this model year (the net effect of installing this kit), will that defeat the cags with no engine light?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

mark

You should not get a check engine light, however the first to fourth light will still light up but it will not force you into fourth. Good luck, Guy

Vette guy is right.

But if you want to do it a better way go buy a chip with the cages delete that is programed into it (mark halbiek chips). The chip will also make your car run better and have the fans turn on sooner.
