Default Any news on the C4 Vararam?

I have e-mailed them and left a message on their voicemail system, with no response on either.

Does anyone have any updates?

I would guess there would quite a bit of interest, if and when they actually come out with it.

And I think that if they are interested in sales they would return calls and e-mails, that might be just me though.

I would be interested to hear if they did come out with a Vararam for C4's. From the C5 reviews I've read, it's really a good unit that gives pretty good results.

Could it be because they are in Texas? Are they in the path of the Hurricane?

You are right mbehavin, it ain’t the hurricane.

I called toll free, 1-866-50-RAM-IT and spoke with them. The woman I spoke to said that they “had not even been developed yet and didn’t know when it would be on the market”. Don’t know if this is of any help.

That answers the question. I have read in several sites that the C4 Vararam would be out around the middle or end of August - based on posts that said it was in development and expected to be ready in about 2 months. These posts were in June. So, I thought I would find out the status. Thanks for the effort in calling. Perhaps some day it will be a real live product.

Thanks

You’re welcome mbehavin. It looks like once it’s available that it will be a nice mod to do. With the ram effect, it should deliver a viable hp gain.

A cheap mod would be an open lid air filter. I also like the results I saw posted in Corvette Fever for the Power Effects exhaust system. On a ’96 LT4 in the open position, the system added around 11 hp on the dyno.

The sky is the limit on this kind of stuff, hot cams, manifolds, headers, porting/polishing, etc.

Power Effects are not available to sell at the moment. Theyve been out of commission all of this year.

I thought PE went out of business or bankrupt or something like that?

PE is beset by casting problems with their manufacturers, I ordered a set at the end of January, and they have yet to produce one catback.

The foundry they use also does parts for GM, and PE, being a low volume seller, is at the bottom of the totem pole, so they arent doing any business.

You can still place orders, but they wont give you a ship date.

Certainly! I would dare say that most of the open lid mods in this forum were done by ourselves. I used a grinder and a jigsaw. Just leave enough of the outer frame to hold the air filter on and that's it.
