Default Fuel Rail Letters

I want to order the fuel rail letters, but the only ones I have seen in person are the red ones.

Anyone have experience with the chrome set?

Sometimes chrome plating on plastic rubs off. That's what I'm concerned about.

Thanks!

You should be fine with the chrome, they shouldn't rub against anything, just be careful when you clean them.

I tried the stick in letters once - the red plastic ones. They looked really good at first but they were hard to clean. After a while, one came loose and never really stuck right again. Then one broke.

I bought some torch red touch up paint and painted the letters my self - after cleaning the glue and other crud off the covers. They look great and are easy to clean.

Check out http://www.grandsportregistry.com/ph...LT4Plus-1s.JPG. They go with the new valve covers too.

Thanks guys. Your treatment looks good Tuna.

I went ahead and ordered the "mirrored chrome" set.

My concern about the "chrome" rubbing off was unfounded. The chrome is on the bottom under the clear plastic, like a mirror. I put them on today and they look great. I cleaned down in the recesses real thouroughly with alcohol on q-tips so I hope they stay put. We'll find out!

Thanks again!

Like the painted engine, Tuna.. Might go that route with mine.

This fall, as long as everything financially settles in like we plan, I will be taking alot of time and effort to replace the worn hoses, lines, etc as well as clean up the engine bay on my 96.

I bet that red lettering really compliments the white exterior.

Thanks for the pic -
Rain(wondering what goes with Aqua)

Put the silver one's on ,but had to use glue, as the self adhecive would not hold.
They have been on awhile now ,with no problem.

2 part 5 min. epoxy. A "very thin" streak with a tooth pick.

One more thing - did you peel off the black spongey stuff first from the back of the letters?
