Chris, thats the one, still surprised that only me and Tony are the only C8 owners in this board. Someone needs to spread the word to invite other C8 owners in here and at high profile events. I guess being stationed overseas has its disadvantages. LOL

Big John,
Does your C8 have SLP's ram air hood. I think I had pictures of your ride and had Chris post them on the picture thread a couple of months. Thats one beautiful ride there. Okay, besides the three of us...............who else owns a C8. Someone at one point mentioned they had the prototype C8 but never resurfaced again. I'm in contact with a Floridian who owns the first convertible C8 ever built. Its a red one with the Callaway tri-spoke wheel design.

My C8 is a 96 Camaro SS.
The first Camaro SS Callaway done any work on.
To use the new C8 aero body kit, we had to change the front fenders to 1998 and up, plus headlights and hood.
Yes we did use SLP's Ultra Z ram air hood and air box.
With the new fenders and headlights the old SS hood would no longer fit.
Yes there where pictures of my car posted here.
As for how many of us here have C8's, I don't know.
Did you ever ask Callaway how many C8's where made?
Big John.

When I posed the question to Joane, she mentioned that a grand total of 18 rides were transformed to official C8 status. While 36 F-bodies recieved only the SNAT upgrade.
Here's a mod I was thinking about over the weekend, maybe you might be interested in this. Since we have a massive front fascia opening it would be advantageous to convert over to a C5's CAI to maximize our engine's full potential. Its just bothersome that I'm not capitalizing on all that air coming in. Although I must admit my ride runs 15 degrees cooler since the radiator is constantly being cooled by the air coming in.
I still need to think on the type of hood I would convert too since I need additional clearance space to clear the CAI over the radiator support. John and Tony give me your assessment on this potential modification. Take care everyone........

CAI
Hi Johnny, since my Camaro started as an SS it came with the CAI hood that directly feeds the airbox which I think will fit your car or SLP has a CAI that draws air from in front of the radiator that should fit you car. Both work fine according to Callaway,as we tried both when my car was getting the 6.8L.Hope this helps & don't be a stranger!

C8 info
Hello Johnny. I finally got the C8 light covers produced in very limited numbers. They are Lexan, which resists cracking around the screw holes. Call me for your set.
To clear up a few C8 mysteries:
The first "C8" prototype was the silver Motor Trend cover car. This car was in actuality not a C8, as a Camaro needs both the engine, and CamAero body. It was built, and referred to as a C8 to promote the car. In fact, when the mags tested the car, they photographed the silver car, but tested the pace car that belongs to Ogle, I beleive, which was, to my knowledge, the development car for the SN engine. The photo car has since been upgraded with a SN, making it a C8.
My red 94 vert, which could be confused as a C8 prototype, was not the first car to get the body, but the first car ordered from Callaway with the full C8 package of: SN400, CamAero Body, Brembo F40 brakes, Prototype C8#1 valve covers, Callaway Speedster style Tri-Spoke wheels with run flats, shift knob, and woodgrain interior accents. It is doccumented from Callaway as the 1st complete C8.
The C8 build list is quite confusing. Essentially, the list can keep growing indefinately, as you can send back your Callaway Camaro, and have the body installed, adding to the C8 list.
I have debated sending my 94 vert and 96 coupe (only 96 A4 built) back for the body, but I think the cars might be worth the most in the future by leaving them intact as they left Callaway the First time. I could be wrong.
The C8 program was designed like this to allow owners to add to the car as their budgets allowed, but I feel that it will be more difficult in the future to value the cars.
Of the C8's listed, seven of the cars were built as non-new cars, with one having almost 30,000 miles on it when delivered to Callaway. Of all the Callaway Camaros and C8s combined, I believe only 27 were built as new cars. I hope C8 owners will chime in to help with this confusion.
Anthony

Anthony,
Do they have the black lining similar to the original ones that Callaway came out with. I have a couple pictures of your ride (I believe before you took possession) with the lens on her. I will give you a ring this weekend so we can further discuss this.

Is "CallawayC8" the owner of the red C8 convertible that was on the Hot Rod Power Tour? Is he also the owner of the silver C8 coupe that was on the Power Tour a few years ago????
