Corsa Exhaust Search
Hello,
After looking at numerous cat back systems I decided that I would go with the Corsa's. The only system that they offer for the LT4 is one with a resonator while I would like to use an X-pipe.
My exhaust man can fabricate about anything so I thought about just using the Corsa mufflers and an aftermarket x-pipe. Unfortunately Corsa mufflers only come in the kit. There seems to be a few sources for x-pipes however I'm not sure which one would fit in the space allowed on the C4.
Any suggestions for a source for Corsa mufflers (only) and a recommendation for an x-pipe would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

I would suggest contacting Corsa and maybe they can suggest an X pipe that will work well w/ their system. Guy

The Corsas are connected like an x pipe. The resonator isn't really one as the pipe is continuous from the header flange to the tip with the cans pulse cancelling the resonance. It's straight through all the way with a crossover.
They don't sell pieces.

Thanks for the input.
I've decided on another option. The tried and true Muffler Delete mod. A little noisy at around 2,000 rpm but the seat of the pants hp gain is impressive. <BG>

My seat is getting to old to be reliable so I took it to the dyno before and after. The dyno showed a 22 HP gain when I installed the CORSA. I can still listen to the radio and the wife just fine and it doesn't resonate in the inside. That's hard to beat.

I don't know if I'd go that route. The sound with just the cats is awful in my opinion. If anything, lose the cats and keep the mufflers and the resonator in the middle..that will help greatly. good luck

Magnaflow was a great fit, best sound and the dyno said 26 additional h.p.. I tried most of the other brands over time and with the Magnaflow you make one cut on each side and they slide into place just like stock. Good luck

I just had the Magnaflow SS system installed on mine and I love 'em. Never dynoed my car but I would love to know that they added 26hp. It definitely sounds alot better and you can tell they are far less restrictive than stock. Not to mention "the look"!

going to Magnaflows
Well, the muffler delete got old, however, it sounded good when standing outside the car.
Found a decent deal on the internet for Magnaflows for under $400 for "mufflers only" which is all Magnaflow offers for the late model c4's.
My exhaust fabricator will remove the resonator and install an X pipe when he installs the Magnaflows.
I'll report back to the list when I get it completed.

Magnaflows
Thanks for the recommendations for Magnaflows. Are those of you who have them using the stock resonator?
Carrboro is okay if you are interested in things like no industry, high taxes and a gereral hate for motorized vehicles. Not that Chapel Hill is much different. Only the scenery (UNC women) is much better.
