My Corvette(s):
1984 Light Bronze
Default VIN to RPO codes

I am still a babe to all this having just brought my '84 home a week ago.

I have read here that there should be a RPO code list sticker in the car, either in the glove box lid or in the compartment behind the driver seat. I have no stickers anywhere....I don't even see any glue residue where one might have been.

So, I am not sure of any options other than the ones that are obvious like power seat, heated mirrors...and so on.

Is there any way to do a check of the VIN to come up with the options ordered for my Vette?? I would like to know if I have the Z51 handling package and what the real color of the car is....I am guessing light bronze, though it looks like it could be gold....

Ken has a good suggestion. Visit the NCM website where you car order the build sheet and the window sticker. The window sticker will tell you what the MSRP of the car was and the option costs. It will also show the name of the dealer that took delivery of the car. The build sheet will have the RPO's installed on the car and things like shipping weight.

While you're there, consider becoming a member of the NCM, it's a great place dedicated to preserving the history of the Corvette. The membeship fee gives you a discount at the Museum store (and on the order for the sheets) and is fully tax dedictible.

BTW, there is no way to determine RPO's from the VIN.

If you have a good friend who works in the office of an autop body shop or auto insurance agency, they should be able to run your VIN and produce a list of options.
Have you tried your local Chevy dealer to see if they could do it for you?
