Default Aero style molded fender guards

Looking for some molded "aero" style splash guards for my 1996. Something like the Altec ones in Mid America. Anyone have any suggestions/pictures/like-dislike on these for a 1996. I will also be adding the Grand Sport "eyebrow" piece to cover 315 to 335's on 11" rims (GS 50mm offset)

When I put the rims on I noticed one side (driver) sticks out about 1/2 to 3/4 inch more than the right. Is this just how the body panels are mounted? With the old rims tires it's not really noticable.

Thanks!

Are you sure you got GS offset on both wheels?

Seems to me that you would have noticed a 1/2 to 3/4 difference in the way your stock wheels fit the wheel well. Check the new wheels.

I have ZR-1 offset on my wheels and they stick out about 3/4 inch on both sides. Check out the photo gallery at www.grandsportregistry.com and search for "Tuna" or try this link http://www.grandsportregistry.com/ph...260Beast6s.jpg for a picture of my wheel/tire/flares/splash guard combo (Altec by the way).

Hi Tuna,

I'm sure on the rims afs & I checked the stamped dimensions on the back side. When I flip the autox tires I'll tape measure them to be double sure. I think my body panels are off about 3/8 inch. That would put one wheel in and one out.

Now I have the stock ones back on and I do see the difference. Driver side is flush with the fender & pass side is in.

When I put the flairs on it'll be less noticable.

Thanks for the post!

I checked you pics, but I don't see "splash guards" you know like mud flaps on a truck. You just have the fender flair right?

I definitely have the Altec splash guards but they are black and 'disappear' against the black tires and dark wheel wells. I should get a close up of them just for this. Take a closer look at the picture in the link - the splash guards can be seen behind the tire and below the flares, there is a little light reflection on the outer edge.

I like them. They are easy to install also.

I can make them out now.

I was talking to Chris at Superior Chevy ( I get a lot of the oem stuff from him) and he said that he has FRONT fender flairs for the 1996 Grand Sport. Have you ever seen front flairs OEM. I know that race cars have that going, but I was surprised that GM has them for the front.
