Default ac compressor problem

ok i have one more repair to make on my 95 corvette. the compressor doesnt kick on when i turn the ac on, the ac is not cold so i tried to put some freon in it but it would take it. i know you can use a jumper wire to get it to kick on but im not sure how to do it, any suggestions
