Default It's been almost a week!

Since I bought my vette! And I gotta tell you I could not wait to get home everyday to drive it!Had A little guilt about spending the $ till every time I went to the garage and looked @ it or drove it!Some things I am going to do are the fast chip and k&n air filter any other suggestions to improve performance that does not require major work?

Get yourself a catback exhaust system. You'll pick up a few horsepower and the results are audible!

Get with Mad Mic he can give you some tips on the L98 as far as simple bolt ons, but the Catback is a very nice addition along with some headers if their legal in your state.

There are several things you can do. You can do a throttle body bypass, you can port out the plenum, bump the timing up a few degrees. I put breathless Ram Air on, it is not free but I think it is well worth the money. It looks a heck of a lot better then the stock crap and you get more air flow, only disadvantage is your not supposed to drive it in the rain. Hope this helps.

Heck man, this is what owning cars is all about! Continually trying to improve performance. You couldn't possibly BE a vette owner without constantly wanting that! You go! There is a plethora of things you can do! Have a blast!

Save your money put some good gas in the tank and see if you can get 30 miles to a gallon that is what it is all about

Then after wards put your foot in it and say thats not why I bought this car!!
Change all the fluids. Royal purple in the trans rear end fluid and don't forget the synthic whale oil FOR REAR END. Add a can of justice brothers engine tune up to your oIL, K&N oil and air filter, fuel filter,NOS FUEL ADDATIVE IN THE TANK AND GO.
Power block TV claims 8 hp gain just with fluid changes.

About 6 coats of wax will increase the HP by about 10%.

No, you're thinking about something like this:

That is the true horsepower adder!

Default mods

I've got a list of mods done to my 87 coupe.
Check them out at
http://members.cardomain.com/bobcorvette

Some of them were the "free" ones, some not.

One of the biggest improvers was the removal of the cats and install of the headers and straight pipes with Borlas. Sounds fantastic and made a big difference.
Mad-Mic was a big help to me.

Hmm, very interesting Guess you must've made a typo in your "MyCorvette" sig when you posted your "I'm in" thread, cause I definately saw 1996 coupe under your name, causing me to post this. Guess you must have changed it later.

"WOW man, I see you went in in a BIG way LT4! Guess you weren't limited by $'s afterall. Congrats! And tell us ALL about it when you get a chance".

Just curious, you never did say what you picked it up for.

sorry guys-It must have been wishful thinking when I hit the 9 instead of the 8 when I orginally put it as A 1996! Picked it up for 6300 42,000 miles on it,I'm 3rd owner, clean title.Only thing I need to do is is replace outer weather stripping on drivers door.I'm having all the fluids changed and new valve cover gaskets here in the next few weeks. Then all winter to compile my wish list for spring!

Sweet, no harm done get out and enjoy it before the snow comes. Where in Indiana are you located at? I am about 15 minutes away from Notre Dame.
