Default Transverse spring squeaking

I think I have finally found the cause of the squeak/grating on my 1984.

I made some ramps and drove the car on them that way the tires still had weight on them. I had my son push as hard as he could to make the Vette bounce up and down.

It seems that the noise is coming from 2 brackets on the transverse spring that have rubber cushions in them. It looks like the rubber has deterioated and may be very hard and causes the loud squeak....which isn't really like a sqeak. More like a grating.

Has anyone had trouble with those rubber bushings? I don't think it will be difficult to change them.

That spring has a lot of tention on it and will turn into a U upside down when you loosen the bolts. yes it does have rubber there but the shims also have line up holes so don't mix them up when removed.
Not that big of a jobe but I can't remember how I did mine?
but you need a belt or something to hold the spring when you pull it back into place or you can put the weight on the car down on it to screw the nuts back on the bolts.
