My Corvette(s):
Default Did GM cancel your dual roof option?

Bad news for some of us...

Per Rick Conti's personal website (Rick is a Corvette dealer employee from Spitzer Chevrolet):

An eleventh-hour GM announcement dated 8/20/04 stated that the C2L (dual roof package) has been removed for some C6 orders. Apparently as many as 787 orders were affected. Go to Rick Conti's website for a list of the GM orders that will NOT be getting the dual roof; instead, they will be getting the painted single roof, and not be charged for the $1400 option. As a consolation, GM mentioned that you can always order the clear/tinted roof thru your dealer's parts dept (and I'll bet it will cost more compared to the cost increase of the dual-roof option ordered with a new car).

Here's the page within Rick Conti's website with the info...scroll down about halfway, or just search on the page for the text 'C2L'.

Is your GM order on the list? Here's the link to the 787 affected vehicles (again, I credit Rick Conti's website):

I didn't see my order HMGPBC, TPW 8/23, on the list, and I DID order the dual roofs...those with a TPW of 8/23 were apparently affected in a big way. I'm just lucky, I guess!

Still, I'm not counting on having both roofs until I see the car on delivery day, 9/11/04 at the National Corvette Museum!

You'd figure for the orders cancelled they could have given out a voucher to let the people buy a translucent roof for the cost of the option. But, I guess that would have made sense!
