I'm not sure how far along into production it is, but it shouldn't have any problems surpassing the C5-R. They are going to be relatively close, regardless. Tuning is the big factor.
Actually, under the skin, the C5R and the C6R will be verrrrry similar! This is most likely a test mule for aerodynamics. Pratt & Miller pretty much have the rest of the car dialed in (as in C5R). Most of any changes from C5R to C6R will be what ever the rules allow for 2005 ALMS GTS Class. The fact the C6 is shorter or narrower than the C5 will get lost in the translation to racecar. I don't think the C5 and the C5R have any similar dimensions.
