Default A little progress update

I haven't posted in some time... been working instead.

Last winter, I started to renew the suspension components and found this:

The kickups were also about the consistancy of swiss cheeze, so I ordered a new frame back half. Been cutting, welding and grinding for the past few weeks, and here's where I am now:

Still have some work to do, but I think the hard part is behind me. After all was done, the frame measurements at worst were .040" off from the factory measurements. I'm happy with that.

Well, back to work.........

Hard work but better you found it now rather than later. Lookin good. Will be really sharp when it's done. Please keep the pics coming. Hopefully you have no more unexpected surprises. Good luck.

Nice work. The frame rebuild and welding is one of the few parts of my restoration I did not want to tackle - my hat is off to you.

Good luck with the rest of the restoration.

Subfixer,

I was very fortunate on my frame. Probably because it only saw part of one winter in all these years.

It looks like you're doing a great job on the repair.

Thanks guys... Got to finish cleaning the original part of the frame, then paint it. Then it will be time to start putting it back together. Next will be SS fuel & brake lines, suspension, etc......
