Default Collinite Insulator Wax??

Has anyone ever tried Collinite Insulator Wax? A friend who owns a spectacular Grand Sport (and has taken "Best Paint" at shows twice this year) highly recommends it and gave us a bottle. Alan has put it on both Corvettes a couple of times, and it's pretty good stuff! And that's from a long-time Zaino fan! I'm very impressed with the shine and depth....don't much care about longevity as the car is never out in the weather for any length of time.

Let me know what you think of it.

Elaine

Just FYI, it is Collinite. The Insulator Wax is a liquid wax. I've heard good things about the durability, but never used it.

From what I've heard, Collinite waxes have a very "hard" shine. Which is certainly fine. If you use it over a glaze, that might add a lot of the glossy depth a hard shine is usually lacking (but I'm sure it will be glossier than Zaino is as that's a very hard shine (I have used Zaino, but not Collinite)).

If you don't actually care about durability, you might try some other waxes that will have more of that "carnauba" look but aren't especially durable. Some P21S, or S100 (the motorcycle version of P21S that you can probably find locally at a Harley dealer) or some Meguiar's #26 might have a warmer look. But really if you are liking the stuff, go with it.

Insulator Wax is interesting stuff as it was designed to be an insulator wax, not a car wax. It was to be used on power lines and such.
