Car and Driver C6 Review

Just got the September Car and Driver, and the big cover story is the C6 review.


C&D was a huge fan of the C5, putting it on their 10Best list something like three years running. They had nothing but praise for the C6, saying it fixed everything they didn’t like in the C5. They couldn’t say enough good things about it, and they had basically no complaints either.


C&D stats:


0-60: 4.3 seconds

¼ Mile: 12.7 seconds

Weight: 3224 pounds

Skidpad: 0.98 g


Price: $1,000 less than a C5! The C6 base price is $43.5K! Sorry if this is old news, but this is the first time I have seen an official MSRP for the C6. Last I heard, everyone was expecting around 50K. This means the Z06 has lots of room to grow also!


A cool comment in the review: “Take any sports car within 20 grand of the Corvette’s sticker, and the Vette will smoke it. It could very possibly outgun the $79,865 350-hp Porsche 911S.”

R&T had an okay article, IMHO. It did not light-my-fire, as Hib's did. Interesting that their 0-60 time was 1/2 second slower; significant!
