My Corvette(s):
1964 Convertible 365HP
Default Just as a point of reference...

Assuming the description is accurate (I know, a big assumption - but humor me ) , I would expect this '63 to fetch a higher price.

I'm just starting my search for a mid-year, and I don't think I could buy one sight unseen, but like I said, I'm interested as a point of reference. Thanks

Gary

Powerglide cars can be a tough sell. Also having bought and sold 6 cars on ebay, the quality of description can be all over the map. Typically ebay cars sell for closer to wholesale.

I like to see a point by point description and I would excpect 500-1000 words of text for a car that goes for this kind of money. Also many clear pics. I have talked to a bunch of transport drivers and most of them do not know of anyone that was very satisfied with a sight unseen car. People *always* imagine cars to be better than they actually are.

Also the price of a $200 plane ticket to visit the car is cheap compared to what a rusty frame can cost. Many people (sellers) do not even know what to look for.

I think buying local is the best bet. Some sellers have no idea how fast the market is moving upward on these cars and their asking prices are sometimes way too low.

Be ready to jump on one immediately when you find it. When I bought my '64 6 months ago the guy got 30 calls the first day. I was the second person to look at it and he could have sold it 15 times over, his cell phone was going nonstop as I was looking the car over.

It has been my experience that Detroit is loaded with vetts. You should be able to find one local. Ask around, there still are lots of cars sitting in garages.
