Default Radio Repair

Having problems with the CD player in my 93 ZR1. Keep getting an error code when I put in a CD. I've tried a CD cleaner, no luck, still comes up with an error.
Anyone have any suggestions? And if I have to take out the radio to repair, does anyone have a good guide on how to remove the radio? Thanks for any help.

First, have you tried different CDs or the same one? Mine is tempermental with a few CDs I have as the edge is not square.

Second, removing the "head unit" is not that tough. You'll have to move the shifter console out of the way. Then, remove the dash faceplate. The CD player will be held in by screws and connected in the back. I removed a 94 once to solder in some new bulbs for the display and it was in/out/soldered in less than 2 hrs.

More than likely you will need to remove the unit and have it sent in to get repaired. I highly recommend "http://doctordons.com/" It will run about $160.00 flat rate plus shipping. And he does a quick turnaround.
