LADY looks beautiful!! it's great to finally see her all together after having seen her only in pieces.

Congrads! Car looks great. I have a 327/300 67 Convertible that I am in the process of restoring. I live in NC and am looking for a shop to refinish the body. Would you reccommend Tony's?

I had the pleasure of seeing LADY in various phases of her resoration while she was at Tony's Corvette Shop. I bought my '65 there and when I went to initially look at it LADY was only a bare frame just finished getting painted. I saw her once or twice since than with other progress ( full rolling frame, engine almost fully done, etc) before they dropped the body back on her. With the detail to attention that Tony and Keith put into the cars they work on and that I could see myself from LADY's work, other cars in the shop they had at the time, AND the customer service that I recieved after purchasing my own car there I could easily recommend them for you to strongly consider for your restoration project.
If nothing else, it's always worth a phone call to them to talk to Tony about your project or take a cruise up from NC to see their shop before making a decision. Restorations are expensive so taking a drive up from NC might be a long trip but worth it if it helps you find a shop you have confidence in rather than one closer that may not do as good of a job.

Looks brand new.

Not everyday you get to see a lady without her fiberglass on!

Thanks to all for your comments! Especially, Barry for the recommendation on Tony!
Not easy to get in, as Tony is always busy! 301-987-0565 is his phone number

Rick,

Absolutely beautiful. Kind of cool that you kept the original dealer emblem on the rear. A lot of people would love to know that info on their cars.

Tom,

thanks for the comments - the original dealer emblem is NOT a stick-on emblem, either! it was actually mounted just like all the other emblems with speed nuts, so I didn't want to remove and have to fill holes, etc.

FYI - there was a lot of discussion by the NCRS judges about the emblem! don't remember if they took any points off or not, as I won't see the actual score sheets for a couple of weeks

I hope I didn't overstep my boundries with what I said about Tony and the work on your car. From what I saw, Tony's work was nothing short of perfect, but you are the one who would know the best and could comment the best on his work on your car. I'm just a newbie at this anyway who got got VERY lucky to see a few steps of such a rare and incrediable car get worked on.

I only wish the restoration job on my car had been done by Tony. Than again, maybe not. If it had been done by Tony I would never have been able to afford to buy it afterwards - it would have been way out of my league in the budget.
LOL

There was probably a small deduct for a non original part but it's still cool. I doubt if it made much difference in the overall score. I'll bet the NCRS judges don't see those very often. I can remember telling the local Chevy dealer not to drill any holes in my new car a time or two back before stick ons.

Within the spirit of the NCRS judging standard, that would fall into the realm of "normal dealer new car pre-delivery preparation"; if I was judging it, I wouldn't deduct for the dealer emblem if it appeared to be original.
