Default Moronic Question Here (lights)

Car off...turn on headlights...does the dash light up?

Yes, with the car off you can turn on the parking lights and get the dash info. Handy if you want to get the milage without starting the car or turning to "accesories" with the key.

I agree. Only if the key is in the "On" position. Just turning the headlights on with the key out does not light the dash.

Actually, early C4's have a mechanical mileage odometer that can be read with everything off, instead of a digital odometer like the late C4's that turn off when the key is out.

All these conflicting results...you would think this was Point-Counterpoint...Someone walk out to their (early) car and try it please...Ken, you hold fast...you have an analog dash.
