Default sigh..,hood latch stuck

Looked through the search forum for the answer but didnt find much that helped.
Passenger side wont unlatch. Saw that Ken had a tool to manually release the latch but the picture was no longer available.
ALL help would be appreciated. Tried pulling on the cable for that side with pliers to see if it would pop. No luck. Cable doesnt seem to be snapped as it still has tension. Tried the Chevy slam (works on trucks and some cars with tired springs and/or sticky latches), lifting, pulling pushing from the drivers side (unlatched & latched). If you folks dont have a answer I'm sure the local dealer will for a price!
Thanks, TC

Default Oh thank you much, guys!!!

Will see if I can replacate the tool with a rod or if someone stocks it out my way. Otherwise will order it.
A friend is going to borrow it of a birthday surprise for a 7 year olds wish. Want it to be a smooth deal for them!!!!

Just a shot in the dark. Did you try to pull the hood release while someone pulls and shakes on the side that is stuck. I read a thread where soneone said you can remove the inner fener linner and get to the hood release.

Had that happen too. Once I got it open I pulled on the cable at the latch release and found about 3/16 of slack. Took a zip tie about the right side and put it on the cable next to the swaged end on the cable. With the slack out it opens every time. Also bought the handy dandy tool from Mid America because sometime, somewhere, one of the latches is not going to release and it will only be a mild PITA because I have the right tool.

Just a question, why does it seem that Corvettes have the most hood latch problem. I had one on my 76 that had to be taken care of for a price $. Most of you seem to have had the problem one time or another. Whats the deal!!?? i've never heard of anyone having this problem except for a Vette.
